Shirley A. Speight
SPEIGHT-the death of Shirley A. Speight of 33 Smythe St., widow of
Melbourne W. Speight, occurred unexpectedly at her residence on
Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Mrs. Speight was born in Saint John, a
daughter of the late William and Cecilia (Lavigne) Noftell. She had
been employed in the Housekeeping Dept. of the Saint John General
Hospital until her retirement a number of years ago. She was a member
of the Women's Club at 33 Smythe St. She was predeceased by a brother,
William Noftell. She is survived by one son, Melbourne Speight of
Saint John; one daughter, Anne Marie Tobias of Rothesay; and one
grandson, Kyle Tobias.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday morning at 12:05. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
