I was so saddened to hear of Carol's passing. She was a bright spot here at the Beatty, friendly, non-complaining and she never forgot a face. I still remember when her mother was ill when I lived on Rockland Terrace and had the hospital bed in the living room. My deepest condolences.

I spent a lot of time on Ridgeway Street and I was very blessed to grow up alongside the O'Briens. Cardy was like a second Mom to me-always there to talk and loved to fill you up with a snack or treat. She was a wonderful woman and I will miss her. My love, thoughts and prayers go out to the O'Briens, the Hendersons and the Dotys.

Dear Mary, Susan, and Danny, I am so sad to hear of the death of your mom. Mary, your tribute to her on FB was so touching and summed up the love and understanding that you had for one another. She was so proud of each of her children and loved to talk about her grandchildren. I can still hear her little chuckle as she would relate a story about Allie. Mary, although I never had the privilege of meeting your Mom, she must have been someone special to raise such a beautiful family. Sorry to hear of your Mother passing on. I have wonderful memories of your family, ours and all 50plus kids playing on Ridgeway Street!I have retold the story many times over the years of your mom inviting a few of us for lunch after confirming that we liked spaghettie. AFTER WE WATCHED HER OPEN UP CANS RATHER THAN HOMEMADE...I'm not sure if she kicked us out or we choose not to stay...either way we ended up having lunch at home. Your mom had great humor and wit. A message from the Barry brothers, and our father David. We are all in Ireland for a long planned father and sons golf trip. Seems fitting to read Carol's message of doing something you love with family you haven't seen in too long. We celebrated in Carol's honour over dinner and drinks with a few stories of Carol and of course Danny. A good Irish wake it was, and I am sure that Carol would have loved that she brought us some good stories, laughter and cheer. We will be having an honorary crib tournament in her memory. I learned how to play, and definitely how to lose, at the hand of Carol. Great memories of the open door Renforth days and my teens. So sorry to Danny, Mary and Susan but so glad I had the good fortune to know your Mom.
