I remember one day he pulled into the driveway in the police car. We were having some problems with kids in the area destroying property and I would see him driving around. I was working out in the yard and he asked me what I was doing. I told him I was measuring the yard. He of course asked me for what. I told him I was seeing how many of those young offenders who were causing the problems that I could bury there. He laughed so hard over that. I have never forgotten his laugh. Cathy, Justin, and Ashley...I was very sad to hear about the loss of this wonderful man. He was always so nice whenever he came into the store. I remember one night him going into the store where my daughter was working and warning her about a robbery that had happened. He was just that kind of thoughtful person...and always looking out for others. I know he will be missed by his family.

Cathy, Justin and family I can't begin to express how my heart breaks for you. Donnie was a great friend and partner. When we leave this world what is left behind is the love we had for our family and friends and the realtionships we built along the way. Donnie loved his family and his friends, he built realtionships with his co-workers, with the kids he coached and supported and the many teams he coached be it hockey or football. He rests in the arms of Jesus now but his love will always be with you.

We were very saddened to learn of Don's passing. When we ran into your clan recently it was great to see you since I don't get out much. Don was a man Marg and I greatly admired as someone who embodied what he believed. He gave life and taught character to so many young people who simply knew him as "Coop", one of our sons included. He played a difficult role in our society in a professional way that guided many. Don was a Beaver leader and I had to explain on Sunday mornings that the police vehicle at St Joachim's wasn't a problem but Don taking his break to tell a story or teach a craft. One of our topics of conversation was Chinese food one of his favorites. I would like to say he was a friend and while our encounters were not often I'll miss him. Cathy, Justin, David, Barb, and Debbie, I was very saddened and surprised to hear of Donnie's passing. Our families grew up together and I have some great memories of those days. One in particular that stands out is of my father spending time out on Coburg St hoping to strike up a conversation with Donnie or his father John. Like his father, he was a real gentleman that we held a high respect for and was always a pleasure to be around. My deepest condolences to the family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to "Coop's" family. My sons had the pleasure of playing on his football team. He was a great influence on a lot of young men during his time coaching and they are all better because of it.

Please accept our deepest condolences on Donnie's passing. My son Alex and I are deeply saddened to hear this news. The 2 years that I spent coaching Pee Wee football with Coop produced some of the finest sporting memories that I will ever have. Indeed, it was an honour and privilege to coach along side of him. To my son Alex, he was an inspiration and a roll model that made a father proud. Donnie will be dearly missed. Be comforted in the truth that happy times and bygone days are never lost rather they grow more wonderful within the hearts that keep them.
