Bella Comeau

1932-2015

Bella Comeau

Comeau (Pearman) Bella Evelyn Doreen –

Bella was born on December 25, 1932. She passed on October 12, 2015 at Rocmaura Nursing Home palliatve unit in Saint John, NB.

A glowing light has faded out here on Earth, for Bella has earned her wings at last.

Bella was born to the late Hugh and Alma (Belliveau) Pearman. Bella is survived by her 4 cherished children; 2 daughters, Darlinda of Edmonton AB and Heather of Saint John; 2 sons, Derik (Sue) of Saint John, NB and Stephen of Drumheller, AB; her loving brother, Darrell Pearman of Bridgewater, NS and loving sister Marie Pearman of Montreal QC; 5 beautiful grandchildren, Stefanie (Kirk) of Edmonton, AB, Jamie of Edmonton AB, Aaron (Jill) of Saint John, NB, Anya of Saint John, NB and Bradley of Saint John, NB; 4 treasured great grandchildren, Emma of Edmonton, AB, Jack, Ben and Margaret of Saint John, NB; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bella was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Ronald and Hugh; 2 sisters, Eleanor and Reneé and an unnamed baby; as well as a granddaughter Alicia Comeau.

Bella married in 1960 and was left to raise 4 babies on her own.

Bella’s blue eyes and smile lit up a room when she entered. She was a big kid at heart and loved to pull pranks. She had a love for children, family and friends – a real softy. She also adored animals, skating and tobogganing. Bella loved special occasions. If there was a gathering of family, friends, and a good meal she wanted to be there. She was a real social bunny. She loved to meet her friends for lunch, bingo and dances. Her favourite music was old country like Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, etc. But if the music had a good beat, she would dance. Her favourite song was "Crystal Chandeliers".

She loved to go for drives to Maine, St. Stephen, Sussex, or just driving a long country road listening to music and chatting away. A good restaurant with a sweet after. A trip to New Hampshire and Vermont to see the White Mountains, and Nova Scotia. She loved to dress for the occasion and always had to have her hair done. She will be missed by all who loved her.

Bella’s final wishes were to be cremated with a Christian service. By request of the family there will be no visitations. A private graveside service will be held for family and relatives at Fernhill Cemetery on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM followed by a reception at her son’s home. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Alzheimer Society.

The family would like to thank Rocmaura Nursing Home staff for their professional loving care, dignity and respect that was given to Bella during her last week in their palliative unit. RN’s, LPN’s, PSW’s, housekeeping, laundry and kitchen staff who prepared meals for the family, allowing us to stay at Mom’s bedside throughout her time. To Father Doug McNeill and the sisters for the many prayers and to all who visited.
