Sister Catherine Lenora McIsaac

The death of Sister Lenora McIsaac occurred at Ruth Ross Residence on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Sister Lenora McIsaac  (Sister Catherine Marie) was born in Hope River, PEI, daughter of James E. McIsaac and Ruth Kathleen (Greenan) McIsaac. 

Lenora entered the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on January 6, 1952.  Sister Catherine Marie began her ministry as an assistant cook in the kitchen at St. Vincent's Convent from 1953-1961.  She then continued as homemaker and cook at Mary’s Home, Moncton, Maliseet and the Mater Misercordiae Home in Saint John until 1968. She worked as a Nursing Aide at the M.M. Home from 1968 – 1971. Sister Lenora went on to be a Sister Visitor and Pastoral Care Worker at Rocmaura Nursing Home from 1971-1979.  She continued her household duties at the Villa Madonna Retreat House until 1982.

When she returned to St. Vincent's Convent she continued her household duties, became a community driver and a Sister Visitor at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Ruth Ross Residence.

Sister Lenora recently resided at Ruth Ross Residence since 1994. 

She is survived by one brother Stephen McIsaac, sister in law Elizabeth McIsaac, several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by one sister, Mary Doiron and four brothers, Pius McIsaac, Francis McIsaac, Earl McIsaac, and Lloyd McIsaac.

Resting at Ruth Ross Residence with visiting on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a Prayer Vigil at 7 pm in Carmel Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Ruth Ross Residence, Carmel Chapel on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10 am. Interment will take place in the Sisters of Charity Plot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street (634-1965) fitzpatrickfh.com.
