Jean Marie "John" Doiron
1944-2016
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Jean
Marie "John" Doiron of Rowley, NB on Saturday, February 6,
2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. John was born on July 17,
1944 in Saint Simon, NB to the late Dominique and Alice (Gallien)
Doiron.
John served the Canadian Armed Forces for 30 years. Upon retirement he continued working as a member of the Corps Commissionaires followed by Windham World Wide for an additional 12 years. He was active with the Sea Cadets and Navy League.
John was a man who rejoiced in the simple treasures that life blessed him with throughout his years. He enjoyed most of all being outdoors and experiencing all of its beauty. Among his favorite ways to spend time were fishing mackerel out of the Bay of Fundy, visiting trout streams and feeding the birds who had come to trust him. He actively fostered within his children and grandchildren a love for science, astronomy and nature, guiding them toward a vast appreciation of all life's beauty. Family, traditions and Acadian roots comprised a strong foundation of his identity from which he built a life of love.
John is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia and children, Cynthia (Peter Davis), Christina (Cameron Ellis) and Christopher; grandchildren, Carol, Fiona, Joseph, Michael, Nicholas, and Gwendolyn; sisters, Valentine (Biel Chiasson), Angelie (Amedee Lanteigne), Fernande (Valmond Chiasson), Linda , Arianna (Walter Niekrenz), and Elsia (Robert); brothers, Raoul (Marielle Chiasson), Antonio (Marthe Chiasson), Jean-Claude (Claudine Mallet) and Paul; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by one son, Curtis; daughter, Cheryl; brothers, Clarence, Sylvano and Sylvano: and sisters, Eglantine Duguay, and Linova.
Visitation will take place at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street (634-1965) on Monday February 15, 2016 from 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 12:10 PM. Avec profonde tristesse, à L’Hopital Regionale de Saint-Jean, N.-B., le samedi 6 février 2016, à l’âge de 71 ans, est décédé M. Jean Marie Doiron de Rowley, N.-B. Né à St. Simon, N.-B. le 17 juillet 1944, il était fils de feu Dominique et de feu Alice (née Gallien) Doiron.
M. Doiron avait travaillé pendant 30 ans pour les Forces Armées Canadiennes. Après sa retraite, Il était membre des Corps canadien de Commissionnaires et suivant il travaillait un 12 ans avec Wyndham. Il a été actif avec les cadets de la marine et de la Ligue navale.
Jean était un homme qui se réjouissait dans les trésors simples que la vie l'a béni avec, toute ses années. Il aimait surtout être à l'extérieur et de vivre toute sa beauté. Parmi ses façons préférées de passer du temps il aimait pêcher le maquereau sur la baie de Fundy, visiter les ruisseaux à truites et nourrir les oiseaux qui étaient venus lui faire confiance. Il favorisait activement au sein de ses enfants et petits-enfants un amour pour la science, l'astronomie et de la nature, en les guidant vers une grande appréciation de la beauté de la vie. Famille, les traditions et ses racines acadiennes constituaient une base solide de son identité à partir de laquelle il a construit une vie d'amour .
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Cecilia et enfants: Cynthia (Peter Davis), Christina (Cameron Ellis) et Christopher; petits enfants Carol, Fiona, Joseph, Michael, Nicholas, et Gwendolyn; soeurs Valentine (Biel Chiasson), Angelie (Amedee Lanteigne), Fernande (Valmond Chiasson), Linda , Arianna (Walter Niekrenz), et Elsia (Robert); frères Raoul (Marielle Chiasson), Antonio (Marthe Chiasson), Jean-Claude (Claudine Mallet) et Paul; et plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Fitzpatrick’s, 100 rue Waterloo, Saint-Jean, N.-B. (634-1965), le lundi 15 février, 2016 de 18h à 20h. La messe des funérailles aura lieu au Cathédrale de la Conception Immaculée le mardi 16 février, 2016, à 12h10. L’inhumation se fera à Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint Jean, N.-B.
