Gerald Francis "Bud" Lawlor

1934-2016

Gerald Francis "Bud" Lawlor
Lawlor, Gerald Francis “Bud” … Surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness, the peaceful passing of Gerald “Bud” Lawlor, born December 17, 1934 in Saint John, NB, son of the late William and Helen (Gillis) Lawlor and beloved husband of Barb (Mackin) Lawlor, occurred May 3, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

During his career, Bud was manager of Kwik Pik for many years and later on managed Market Square Smoke Shop. He was an avid reader and sportsman; he enjoyed bowling, golfing and curling. He especially loved T.V. sports because he could yell from the sidelines. He was a long-time member of Thistle St. Andrews (TSA) in which he had many fond memories of and developed lasting friendships. Over the years Bud spent many hours curling and working both on and off the ice. He earned the title of “Captain #6”, and wore his cap with pride. He got great enjoyment from watching his grandchildren through their accomplishments. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 57 years, his children and to his faith.

He was kind, compassionate, fun-loving, respectful, and patient. He would be willing to give a hand to anyone and help those in need. Bud will be truly missed by his loving family.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who cared for Bud over the years. A special thank you to Cathy Wilson, LPN of 3CN, truly blessed for her care, she always made him smile.

Besides his wife, Bud is survived by one daughter: Carolyn Ramsay (Perry) of Quispamsis; two sons: Michael William Lawlor (Monique) of Rothesay and Peter Alan Lawlor of Saint John; one sister: Joan Ward from Ottawa; one brother: William Lawlor of Saint John; six grandchildren: Katie Tibbets (Dan), Brianne, Aaron, Meaghan, Seth and Lily; two greatgrandchildren: Evan and Liam; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bud was predeceased by one daughter: Elaine; three brothers: Greg, Larry, and Peter; and two sisters: Katherine and Maureen.
