Susan Agatha Malone
MALONE – Susan Agatha Malone passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Villa Providence in Shediac on September 17, 2016. Susan was born on June 28th, 1919 in Gagetown, N.B. to the late John and Mary Ann (nee Jones) Mahoney. She was the loving wife of the late Warren Joseph Malone.

After graduating from Gagetown High School in 1935, Sue moved to Saint John and later to Morna where she lived her entire married life. Sue worked at the Lancaster Post Office and assisted her husband in business which included operating Malone’s Grocery in Morna for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, oil painting, quilting, knitting, following Canadian politics and spending winters in Florida after she and Warren retired.

Susan is survived by her sons Wayne (Gail) and Michael (Sharon), both of Parlee Beach, NB, and her daughter Kathryn Amyot (Maurice) of Gatineau, Quebec; eight grandchildren: Andrea Malone, Jonathan Malone (Rachel), Patricia Malone (Ara Ashikian), Michael J. Malone, Patrick Amyot (Marie-Claude), Suzanne Davidson (Russ), Michelle Amyot (Lepinsy Chanthalansy), Andree Rexhepi (Edmond); thirteen great-grandchildren: Emma, Francis, James, Julie, Ally, Derek, Janika, Etienne, Marilou, Thomas, Alexis, Lauren, and Dylan; four sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Mahoney, Irene Lawlor, Marie Murphy and Elsie McMillan; and one brother-in-law Walter O’Connor.

She was the last surviving member of her family, having been predeceased by her brothers Lawrence, John, Gerald and Arthur, and her sisters Jen Sullivan, Mary Henderson, Kay Murphy, Anna Bernard and Gertrude Malone.

She leaves behind children and their families who loved her and respected her. She will be greatly missed, but we’re thankful for a life well lived.

The family offers sincere thanks and great appreciation for the excellent care she received at the Villa Providence in Shediac.

Visitation will be held at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home ,100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB (634-1965) on Sunday September 25, 2016 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John, NB on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Isaac Walton Killam Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online remembrances and condolences may be placed at www.fitzpatrickfh.com.
