Sr. Constance P.  Foley
Sister Constance Patricia Foley was born in West Saint John, the daughter of the late Timothy Leo Foley and Mary Isobel (Tobin) Foley. Constance graduated from St. Vincent’s Girl’s High School and finished her Grade XII at Mount Carmel Academy. She worked at the CPR Telegraph Office for a year before entering the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on September 8, 1946.
After her novitiate and teacher training to obtain her NB Teachers’ License, Sister M. Timothy began her teaching ministry. She taught in Woodstock, St. Patrick’s Orphanage at Silver Falls, Holy Trinity School, Mountain Road School, Moncton, St. Joseph’s, St. Peter’s and taught fourteen years at St. Vincent’s Girls’ High School. During these years, Sister Timothy was organist and did choir work wherever she taught. She also taught ethics to the Nursing students at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from UNB and her Master of Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame, Ind., USA.
Sister Foley was missioned to Edmonton in 1971 and taught at St. Alphonsus School before moving further west to Vancouver where she taught at St. Francis of Assisi School. After a renewal program in 1976-77, she spent a contemplative time at the St. Clare’s Monastery in Duncan BC.
Sister Constance returned to Saint John in 1981 and did some supply teaching at St. Vincent’s High. She then became Pastoral Assistant at St. Joachim’s Parish, St. Mark’s in Quispamsis, and St. Raphael’s, Blackville and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Howard until 1999. Sister Foley resided at St. Vincent’s Convent until 2008 when she moved to Ruth Ross Residence.

She is survived by her brother Vincent Foley.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers: Donald T. Foley and John Foley; as well as her sister: Agnes Morrison.

Resting at Ruth Ross Residence, 105 Burpee Avenue, with visiting on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM in Carmel Chapel. The vigil prayer will be celebrated at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 10:00AM in Carmel Chapel, at Ruth Ross Residence. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
