M. Lena Savoie
Savoie, Marie Lena - Surrounded by her loving family the passing of Marie Lena (Lavoie) Savoie wife of the Late J Arthur Savoie, occurred on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Sainte Irene, QC she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Marianne (Marcoux) Lavoie. From 1943-48 she was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital and later at the Saint John Airport Restaurant. Her family was the most important thing to her especially her grandchildren. Lena loved the outdoors. She loved to walk and tap dancing. She was a fabulous cook. She loved music and enjoyed playing cards and going to dances with her group of friends. She also enjoyed the Seniors club, L'Arc en Ciel.

Lena is survived by sons, Roger (Harriett) Savoie of Passekeag, and Steve (Sherry) Savoie of St. Martins; daughters, Linda (Mike) Bailey of Coles Island, Mary Anne (Dave) Spellman of St. Martins, and Susan (Chris) LeBlanc of Gardner Creek; Sisters Jeannette (Merlin) Sauntry, Marie Ross and Yvonne Whiteside; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Adrien, Sarto and Leo; and sisters, Lorette Caissie and Albertine O'Connell.

Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB, (634-1965) with visiting on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 24, 2017 from St. Joseph's Church, 4347 Loch Lomond Road at 11AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
