Florence Marion Garnett

It is with profound sadness that the family of Florence Garnett, loving wife of Vern M. Garnett, announces her passing which occurred on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 23, 1953 in Campbellton, she was a daughter of Georgina and the late Leo Cyr. Florence was a woman of faith. She was a member of the CWL, a past Eucharistic Member of the Cathedral, and Assistant Coordinator of the Confirmation Class at Stella Maris. Florence also volunteered her time as a member of the NB Home & School Association and a past member of the Parents Committee of the 527 Air Cadets. Florence enjoyed crafting and always donated her works to St. Vincent de Paul or other such organizations. Florence will be dearly missed by her surviving family, her mother Georgina, her husband of 30 years Vernon, her beloved son Tristan Garnett and Abby her beloved puppy, her brothers: Victor Cyr, George (Lynn) Cyr, Earl (Sherry) Cyr, Doug (Heather) Cyr, Ralph Cyr, Wayne Cyr and Wendell Cyr (Amber), her sisters: Catherine Cyr (Tony), Louise Cyr and Leola (Edward) McKinney, brother-in-law Vincent (Betty) Garnett, along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Besides her father, Florence was predeceased by her infant sister Gloria. Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, (634-1965) where visitation will be held on Monday, February 27 from 2 PM-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday, February 28 at 12:10 PM. In lieu of flowers and for those who wish, remembrances may be made to St. Vincent de Paul.
