Gerald Arthur Forest
It is with appreciation for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of Gerald (Gerry) Arthur Forest which occurred on July 1, 2017 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 28, 1952 in Saint John, NB, he was a son to Huberte (Betty) and the late George Forest.

Gerry touched many lives with his gift of caring for individuals with special needs. With his nephew and assistant Clifford Lavoie, both John Ferguson and the late Jack Meahan who were under his long term care, held a special spot as family.

Gerry is survived by his wife and love of his life Sondra (affectionately known to Gerry as Sunny), his daughters Lisa Forest Ohlheiser (Noel) and Lynda, and two step children, Jillian Comeau (Kirsten Bonson) and Jared Comeau. He is also survived by one brother Paul (Diane Durette), and two sisters, Susan Boudreau (Rodolphe), and Linda O'Brien (David). He is also survived by two grandchildren Nikki and Isabella, along with several nieces and nephews.

Gerry is predeceased by his daughter Tammy, his father George, and Jack Meahan, for whom he was a long-term care giver.

Special thanks to Dr. Bewick, Dr. Grant, and the Palliative Care Team at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their exemplary care and compassion.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (506-634-1965). In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 12:10 PM from the Virgin's Chapel of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street. Interment will take place at a later date in Calgary Alberta, when Gerry's ashes will be laid to rest with his beloved daughter Tammy.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and stroke foundation or to the Cathedral Restoration fund would be appreciated by the family.
