Mary "Kay" Kathleen MacDougall
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mary Kathleen “Kay” (Mooney) MacDougall of Saint John wife of the late Dr. Joseph A. MacDougall which occurred on January 26, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was a daughter of the late John Patrick and Evelyn (Lawlor) Mooney. She was a graduate of St. Vincent’s High School, attended St. F.X. and was a graduate of UNB. She was a member of the Irish Canadian Cultural Association of NB, Saint John Chapter, the Universities Women’s Club, the Union Club and the CWL. She is survived by five sons: Joseph of Lincoln, NB, Robert (Carol Ann) of New Maryland, NB, Jack (Frances) of Fredericton, NB, Allan of Saint John and Colin (Jenny) of St. Stephen; six daughters: Jane Waldron of Bedford, NS, Mary Morrison of Saint John, Eileen of Saint John, Anne MacDougall of Fredericton, Elizabeth Phillips (Brian) of Sussex and Martha Desmond (Patrick) of Saint John; sister: Evelyn Morris (Denis) of Halifax; sisters-in-law: Roz Mooney of Saint John, Florence “Babe” Dundon; 44 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one daughter: Suzanne Cuttle and one son, John Paul; two brothers: John and Patrick Mooney; four sisters: Connie Marr, Geraldine Mooney, Barbara Moore and Gertrude Mooney.
The Family would like to make special thanks to: Dr. William O’Brien, Dr. Gordon Hollway, Dr. Chris O’Brien, the nurses and staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Susan Smith, Debbie Hayes and Darrell Allen for their kindness and care of our mother.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB (634-1965) with visiting on Sunday January 28, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. John the Baptist Parish, 54 Broad Street on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Divine Mercy Catholic School or NB Right to Life and Liam's Brigade.
