M. Martina Morris
MORRIS-the death of M. Martina Morris of St. Andrew House, 134
University Ave., widow of Arthur "Gadget" Morris, occurred
at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, November 23, 2008. Mrs. Morris was
born in Bath, N.B., a daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Crain)
McSheffery, and had resided in Saint John since 1943. She had been
employed at Canada Permanent Trust and Sears Canada. She was a fifty
eight year member of the Catholic Women's League. She had also been a
member of St. Elizabeth's Society and the Canadian Association for
Retarded Children and a volunteer with Meals-On-Wheels. She was
predeceased by a son, Paul; her sister, Mary Rippon; two brothers,
Wilfred and Edward McSheffery; and her son-in-law, Paul Giggey. She is
survived by a daughter,Peggy Nickerson-Giggey of Rothesay; two
granddaughters, Vickie Nickerson (Jeff Peters) of Calgary, and Lori
Nickerson (John Graydon) of Halifax; two step-grandsons, Michael
Giggey (Winnie) of Toronto, and Christopher Giggey (Helene) of Ottawa;
one step-great-grandson, Owyen Giggey of Toronto; several nieces and
nephews; and several cousins, including Margaret McHarg and Mary Lou
McCullough. She will be missed by her dog Heidi.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with
visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church on Wednesday morning at ten
o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, donations to Hospice of Greater Saint John; Romero
House-Soup Kitchen; or the charity of your choice would be
appreciated.
