Kathleen "Kay" Ryan
1927-2014
<p>Ryan Kathleen J."Kay" … Kay Ryan passed
away peacefully at the Rocmaura Nursing Home on Saturday June 14,
2014. She was born in Sussex on September 19, 1927 and was a daughter
of the late Martin J. and Hilda M. Ryan. She was employed in the film
industry and retired from the International Film Company. Kay was a
member of St. Peter’s Legion of Mary for fifty years, St.
Peter’s Catholic Women’s League; was a member of
the Romero House Board of Director’s and a long standing
supporter to feed the needy of Saint John. In the past, Kay supported
the Meals on Wheels program and even helped deliver the meals. Some of
Kay’s interests were travelling and she enjoyed visiting her
sister and family in Oakland, California, her brother and family in
San Diego, California. Also, the trips across Canada by train which
she enjoyed along with her sister Martina as well as travelling
overseas to Lourdes in France and Ireland. Kay also enjoyed listening
to music, especially classical. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs.
Loretta O’Keefe of Montreal and Martina Ryan of Saint John
as well as several nephews, one niece, great nieces and one great
nephew. In addition to her parents, Kay was predeceased by two sisters
Regina Ryan and Hilda Detwiler and one brother Gerard J. Ryan.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home,
100 Waterloo Street (634-1965). The visitation and Memorial Mass will
be celebrated at a later date which will be announced when family
members arrive. Donation’s to Rocmaura Nursing Home or to
the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by
