Joan Muriel Legere
1932-2014
Legere, Joan M. – It is with great sadness the family announces
the passing of Joan Muriel (Anderson) Legere of Saint John, NB, wife
of the late Lionel Legere which occurred on Monday, August 4, 2014 at
the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Halifax,
NS, she was a daughter of the late Noble and Hazel (Lunn) Anderson.
She was a hairdresser, owned and operated Joan’s Beauty Salon.
Joan was a member of St. Pius X and Past President of their C.W.L.,
she was Past President and member of Beaus and Belles, volunteered
with Hospice. Joan enjoyed camping at Pine Cone Camp Ground with her
family, as well as music and singing. She was an avid Crafter. Joan is
survived by her children, Deborah Bourque of New Westminster, Gail
Correia (Tony) of Saint John, David Legere (Jacquelyn) of Quispamsis,
and Monique Legere (Steve Chenier) of Moncton; four grandchildren,
Amanda, Lauren, Emily and Allison; two great-grandchildren, Aydan and
Ava; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she
was predeceased by one son, Barry; brother, Gordon and sisters, Pearl
Earle, Margaret Woodworth and Katherine Dockrill.
There will be no funeral home visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated on Friday, August 8, 2014 from St. Pius X at 11:00
am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fitzpatrick’s
Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB, (634-1965). For
