Vincent Edward "Vince" Desmond
1931-2014
Vince was born in Saint John on August 11, 1931 and was a son of the late Timothy and Elizabeth (Whelly) Desmond. He is survived by his loving wife Anne (Corkery) Desmond of 56 years; his children: Tim & Brenda Desmond (Sarah & Emma); Anne Marie & Jim Creamer (Patrick, Emily & Katie); Patrick & Martha Desmond (Anthony, Michael, Sean, Kathleen, Joseph & Clare); Maureen Desmond; Ellen Desmond & Paul Harquail (Christopher, Madeline & Matthew) and John & Derry Desmond (Kane, Gabriel, Timothy and Connor); sister Elizabeth Ann Cann and brothers Joseph Desmond & Bernard (Joan) Desmond and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers Lawrence and Brian Desmond.
Vince graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1950 and then graduated from Teacher’s College. He pursued a variety of occupations that allowed his gregarious and spirited personality to shine.
He was a man deeply devoted to his family and faith.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, (506-634-1965) with visitation on Saturday, Sept 6, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00pm and Sunday, Sept 7, 2014 2:00 – 6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Sept 8, 2014 at 11:00am from St. Joseph’s Church followed by burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery.
