Herbert Victor Mortimer

1928-2014

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Herbert “Herb” Victor Mortimer of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Mary Margaret Mortimer, which occurred on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Newfoundland he was a son of the late John and Sadie Mortimer. Herb was employed with Saint John Shipbuilding for over twenty five years until his retirement. He is survived by one son, Herbert V. Mortimer Jr. (Bonnie) Mortimer of Calgary; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Wharton (Ron) of Saint John; three brothers, Joe Mortimer (Joan), Robert “Bob” Mortimer both of Saint John and Jim Mortimer (Hazel) of St. Martins; two sisters-in-law, Mary and Mabel Mortimer; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and John and sister-in-law, Leona.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB, (634-1965) with visiting on Sunday September 14, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and Monday, September 15, 2014 from 2-4 pm. A funeral service will be celebrated from Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
