Lillian F. Kelly
The death of Lillian Frances (McDermott) Kelly occurred at Loch Lomond Villa after a brief illness.
Born in Saint John, she was the youngest child of the late Joseph F. and Anne T. (O’Leary) McDermott.
She was an honor graduate of St. Vincent’s Girls High School and Mount Carmel Academy.
From a musical family, she performed in a number of Knights of Columbus operas, Irish musicals, and was a lifelong member of St. Joachim`s church choir and soloist.
She was a Charter member of the Knights of Columbus council 6595 ladies auxiliary, St Joachim’s Catholic Women’s League, the Propagation of the Faith society, and the League of the Sacred Heart.
She was predeceased by her husband John C., five brothers, Donald, George, Edmund, Gordon, and Gregory, and one sister Muriel.
She is survived by one son Brian Kelly (Donna), two daughters Colleen McDonough and Erin P.K. McPhee (Breck), eight grandchildren; Kathleen (Roy) and Timothy McDonough, Kyle (Rachel), Andrea (Jeff) Murphy, Kelsi, Rory McPhee, John (Kristi) Walsh, Jean-Luc Michaud, as well as six great grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters Mona Duffie and Eleanor Guignard as well as many nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home 100 Waterloo street (506) 634-1965 with visiting on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 2: 00 Pm to 8: 00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim`s Church, Loch Lomond Road on Saturday at 10am, followed by interment at St. Joseph`s Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Joachim`s building fund, Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. www.fitzpatricksfh.com
