Ronald C. Smith
SMITH-Ronald C. Smith, husband of the late Mildred E.
"Totty" (Peters) Smith, passed away suddenly and peacefully
while surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the Saint
John Regional Hospital. Ronald was born in Quebec City, a son of the
late Walter and Gertrude(Dole) Smith, and had resided the greater part
of his life in Saint John where he had been employed with the Dept. of
Fisheries and as a longshoreman. He had been a member of the I.L.A.
Local 273 and was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He was predeceased
by a son, David. He is survived by two sons, Allen (Barbara) of
Fredericton, and Stephen (Kerrileigh) of Rothesay; three daughters,
Judith McGrath (Robert) of Rothesay, Colleen Mabee (Mark) of Saint
John, and Maureen Smith of Saint John; one sister, Dorothy McNally of
Saint John; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Smith of Saint John; 13
grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Service will be held int Fitzpatrick's Chapel on Tuesday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
