Cecilia E. Shannon
1924-2010
SHANNON-the death of Cecilia E. Shannon of 11 Foley Ct., widow of Thomas Shannon, occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital on Wednesday, May 19, 2010.
Celia was born in Saint John, on June 7, 1924, a daughter of
the late Arthur S. and Emma (Emin) Wakim. She was a real estate agent
for over thirty years and was the first female accredited appraiser in
the Maritimes with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. She was
predeceased by four sisters, Annie Saab, Madeline Rudovitch, Germaine
McLorie, and Catherine Wakim. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Vincent
(Lorraine) of Rothesay, and Dr. T. Andrew (Janet) of Vancouver; one
brother, Arthur Samuel(Martin)Wakim, Q.C. of Toronto; three sisters,
Theresa Stephen of Toronto, Mary Wakim of Toronto, and Helen Haddad of
Boston; four grandchildren, Dr. Leslie of Vancouver, Matthew of
Ottawa,Tessa and Blake, both of Vancouver; and several nieces and
nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home,
100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the
Immaculate Conception on Saturday morning at 10:30. Interment will
take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to
the Cathedral Building Fund or St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation would
be appreciated.
