Gerard Bernard "Boomer" McHugh

McHUGH-Gerard Bernard "Boomer" McHugh born January 2, 1959. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Boomer on Monday, June 14, 2010; beloved husband and best friend to Noelle, and devoted father to Erin and Joseph; predeceased by his father, Gerald, and survived by his mother, Joan "Gerry" (Ameriault), sisters, Jean McHugh of Halifax, Karen (Pat) Carvell of Montreal, and Lorna Richard and Janet Maher, both of Saint John; and several nieces, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.Gerry worked as a Social Worker for the Dept. of Social Development for over 20 years and was a champion of children's rights. A friend to all, Boomer enjoyed volunteering, sports, golfing, and hockey.Humble even in his success, he will be sadly missed.Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home,100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Friday morning at eleven o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kids Help Line would be appreciated.
