MURPHY-the death of Constance O, Murphy, widow of Donald A. Murphy,
occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday,
October 15, 2010. Mrs. Murphy was born in Saint John, a daughter of
the late James and Elizabeth (White) Whelly, She was predeceased by
seven brothers, Francis, George, James D., Fr. John, C.S.C., Fr.
Joseph E., Arthur W., Q.C., and Charles F., Q.C.; and three sisters,
Mary and Margaret Whelly, and Elizabeth Ann Desmond. She is survived
by five children all of Saint John, Dr. D. Terence (Myra) and their
children, Dr. Anne, D. James (Sara), Conan (Kristen), and Tiernan
(Christina); Anne Murphy; Joseph E. (Veronica) and their children,
Mary Ann (Mike), Maria, Joseph E. W., and Elizabeth; Chris Penney and
her children, Matthew (Catherine), Connie (John), and Kate; and Jan
Phillips (Mark) and their children, Brendan and Nick; one sister, Sr.
Zetta Whelly, S.C.I.C., of Saint John; one great-granddaughter, Maeve
Murphy; three brothers-in-law, Fr. James W. Murphy, S.J., Aubrey
Murphy, and Barry Murphy; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Whelly and
Audrey Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting
on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on
Monday at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation to Romero House-Soup Kitchen
