Richard F Smith

SMITH-the death of Richard F. Smith of 26 Alpine St., husband of the late Kathleen (Hubbard) Smith, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 1, 2011. Mr. Smith was born at Penobsquis, and had resided the greater part of his life in Saint John.

He had been employed with the Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Railways until his retirement a number of years ago. He served with the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War. He loved hunting and fishing and being with family. He was predeceased by three sons, Richard B., William J., and Gordon S. Smith. He is survived by two sons, Brian (Della), and Richard, both of Saint John; three daughters, Geraldine Wilson (Bobby), Charlotte Stewart (Brian), and Ruth Robichaud (Robert), all of Saint John; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

 Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Service will be held in Fitzpatrick's Chapel on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
