Elizabeth G. Hansen
1931-2011

HANSEN, Elizabeth G.- The death of Elizabeth G. Hansen of Morrisdale, wife of Douglas Hansen, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 16, 2011. She was born in Saint John on Jan. 18, 1931, the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret ( McAdam) Drew.
Betty and her husband lived in St. Stephen for over 30 years,
where she worked in retail at Natty Norm's. During her youth she was
involved in singing and acting around Saint John. Betty and Doug met
at Chapel Grove where they found-out that they had lived two doors
apart for 15 years. While in St. Stephen she was a member of the
Lionettes and the Milltown Legion Dart League and was involved in
sewing, arts, and crafts, especially at Christmas time. To Betty
everyone else came first and she loved to give to family and
friends.
Besides her husband, Betty is survived
by three sons, Drew (Gloria) of Charlottetown, P.E.I., Mark
(Ginette),of St. Stephen, N.B., and Ed (Lorrie) of Burnaby, B.C.; one
daughter, Kim (Wendy) Stringer- Hansen, of Caledon, Ontario; one
brother, Fred "Buddy" (Myrna) Drew, of Lower Sackville,
N.S.; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at St. Bridget's Church, Chapel Grove, on Saturday,
May 21, 2011, at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in St.
Bridget's Cemetery followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu
of flowers, donations to the Canadian Williams Syndrome Association or
the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
