Fernand Dagenais
DAGENAIS, Fernand,- Fernand Joseph
Didace Marcel Dagenais, a true gentleman and benevolent soul, passed
away peacefully at Ridgewood Veterans' Wing on Saturday, July 30,
2011. Fernand was born in Montreal on March 2, 1917, a son of the late
Didace and Aurore (Racette) Dagenais.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Frances Marie Galvin of West Saint John in 2004. He had served with the R.C.A.F. during the Second Wold War in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, and Italy. He was employed as a real estate appraiser with the Government of Canada for 33 years until his retirement in 1981. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and bowler and had been a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Montreal for 15 years. He is survived by one son, Edward Dagenais of Saint John.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate
Conception on Tuesday afternoon at 12:05. Interment will take place in
Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation to the NB Alzheimer
Society would be appreciated.
