Achille J. GUIGNARD
1922-2011

GUIGNARD, Achille J.-It is with great sadness that we announce the
death of Achille Joseph "Archie" Guignard, husband of A.
Eleanor T. (McDermott) Guignard, at Ridgewood Veterans' Wing on
Saturday, November 5, 2011. Archie was born at Lameque, N.B., on July
22, 1922, a son of the late Phillipe and Leocadie (Doiron) Guignard.
He served overseas with the 1st Anti-tank Artillery for three years as
a gunner and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and #1 T.V.S.
Following the war he was employed as Supervisor of Linen Stores at the
D.V.A. Hospital until his retirement a number of years ago. He was
predeceased by five brothers and four sisters and was the last
surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his wife, he is
survived by a son, Phillip (Lydia) of Edmonton; a grandson, Joseph of
Edmonton; and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo st., with visiting on Monday from 7 to 9 and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday afternoon at 12:05. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold on Memorial Service on Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM.
