Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Fournier
1932-2013
Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Fournier, wife of Daniel James
Fournier, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the
Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on November 27,
1932, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Isabelle (Crilley)
Roberts. Besides her husband, Betty is survived by two sons James
(Kim) and Lawrence (Sharon) all of Saint John; four grandchildren
William (Heather), Selena (Andrew), Matthew (Kayla), and Curtis; four
great-grandchildren Kayla, Billy, Kylie, and Elizabeth. She is also
survived by her sisters Marie Melles and Eileen Furlong (David) and
several nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is survived by
sister-in-law Bernice Roberts and former daughter-in-law Susan Boyce.
She was predeceased by her brother William Roberts and by her
brother-in-law Ernest Melles. Betty was a member of the Irving Pulp
and Paper Retirees Club. Betty loved playing Auction 45’s at St.
Joachim’s and the Lorneville Community Centre. Most of all, she
loved spending time with her family and friends.
Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are
invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be
celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91
Waterloo Street, on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 12:10 pm. Interment
will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery on Tuesday, April 16, at
10:00 am. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fitzpatrick’s
Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, (634-1965). In lieu of
flowers, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation,
or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
