James Pentland

The death of James D. Pentland of French Lake,  husband of Jean (Wills) Pentland, occurred at his residence on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013. Jim was born in Campbellton, NB on March 12, 1940 and was the youngest son of the late Ernest and Cora (Firth) Pentland. He served as a member of the 8th Canadian Hussars and was a legion member of Branch # 14 and most recently of Branch # 093. Then he was employed as an insulator mechanic until his retirement in 2005 and was a longstanding union member of Local 131 Heat & Frost Insulators. He resided in Nerepis until moving to French Lake in 2008. Besides his loving wife Jean, he is survived by sons; James and Anthony; daughters, Pamela and Cynthia; brother, Edward; sisters, Mavis Miller, Lois Boyce, and Myrna Toussaint; several grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a son, Douglas; brothers, Wilford and George, sisters, Carolyn Gustavason and Gwendolyn Wilson, grandsons, Devin and Patrick Pentland and brothers in law; Oscar Miller, Waldo Ross and James Toussaint.

Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street Saint John (634-1965) with visiting on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 12:10 pm followed by interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. www.fitzpatrickfh.com
