Margaret Mary Dalton
1922-2014
<p>It is with heartfelt sadness the family announces the passing
of Margaret Mary (Mackin) Dalton of Saint John, NB, wife of the late
John Francis Dalton, following a brief illness at the Saint John
Regional Hospital on February1,2014. Born on March 8, 1922 in Saint
John, NB she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Quinlan)
Mackin. Margaret was well known for her kindness to others, her pride
in her Irish heritage and her deep Catholic faith. She loved attending
social gatherings and shined with charm and grace. She was a member of
the Liberal Party Association, the CNR and CPR retirees Association,
and a life time member of the CWL. Margaret devoted her life to her
family and is survived by her children, Mary McInerney (Terrence) of
Rothesay, Joan Dalton-Crich (Douglas) and Paul Dalton (Jane) both of
Saint John; sister, Lillian (Honey) Stafford; brothers, Gregory Mackin
and Bernard Mackin (Lillian); sisters-in-law, Betty and Shirley
Mackin. Margaret took enormous delight in her grandchildren, Anne,
Sean, Erin, Peter, Paula, Michael and Margaret; great-grandchildren,
Ethan, Lucas, Dalton, Jazmyn, Roxanne, Kesler and Matthew; several
nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents she was
predeceased by son, John Dalton; daughter, Anne Marie Dalton;
brothers, William, Gerald, Joseph, Paul Mackin. She will be sadly
missed by all who knew and loved her, especially those who experienced
her kind heart and caring manner. Resting at Fitzpatrick’s
Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB, (634-1965) with
visiting on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 3-9 pm. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from St.
Joachim’s Church at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in
St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to
