Lillian Margaret Zed
It is with great sadness that the family of Lillian M. Zed, widow of the late Peter Zed, announces her passing on April 23, 2014. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on September 7, 1921, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Simon) and Charles Tracey. Shortly after her birth she moved with her family to Boston where she lived until returning to Saint John following her marriage to Peter Zed.

Lillian was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Mansour and her second husband, Peter Zed, her daughter, Karen Zed, and her brothers, Douglas Tracey and Kenneth Tracey and her son-in-law, John Walker.

Lillian is survived by her children, Peter (Martha Barry) and Kevin (Geneva Bennett), Monica Walker, all of Saint John, Ardeth Reardon (Clary), of Halifax and her sister, Doris Mathewson of Maine. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kathleen Zed (Toronto), Peter Zed (Halifax), Elizabeth Zed (Halifax), Joseph Zed (Toronto), Matthew Zed (Halifax), Tracey Walker (Saint John), Amanda Walker (Ottawa), Jillian Reardon (Vancouver) and Michael Reardon (Halifax) and her great-grandchildren, Sadie Elizabeth Simone, Benjamin Andrew Simone and Thompson Peter Zed.
Lillian was a member of the Canadian Lebanon Association, St. Raymond’s Society and a member of the Cathedral Parish for all of her life in Saint John. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Visitation will be at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634-1965) from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25th. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Saint John.
For those who wish, remembrances to the Karen Zed Fund (Dalhousie University College of Pharmacy), the Cathedral Restoration Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
