Cecil Head
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of my dearest husband and father, Cecil St.Clair Head at the Saint John Regional Hospital on the 14th of March, 2015.Cecil was 85.

Born in Charlottetown PEI he was the son of Agatha Ann Head (nee Gallant) and David Augustin Head, he was the last remaining member of his immediate family. Cecil was predeceased by 3 brothers, Elmer Head, David (Dick) Head & Almer Head; 3 sisters, Gladis Prowse, Beatrice Folley and Eleanor Saunders, Several nieces and nephews.

Cecil will be sadly missed by his wife Sharon, three sons, Cecil Jr. of Saint John, Mark Head of Toronto, Robert of Edmonton Alberta.2 grandchildren, Angela Head of Saint John, James Smith of Moncton New Brunswick and 1 great-grand child Liam James Head (age 5).

Cecil will be sadly missed by sister in law Linda Friars of Saint John, Nancy Prowse of Rothesay, brother in laws Leonard Doucette, Douglas & Linda Doucette of Grand Lake.

Cecil served in the Korean War, as well was stationed in Egypt for 2 years.


Cecil's hobbies included reading, in his younger days playing pool. Cecil derived great pleasure from speaking about various stories concerning trips around the world and the people and places associated with them while serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. Cecil loved spending time with his great-grandson Liam as well as hours spent with his beloved cat George Lopez while resting in his favorite chair.

Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street Saint John, NB, (634-1965) with visiting on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2015 from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 12:10 pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the spring. There will be a Tribute to a Veteran Service on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm For those who wish remembrances can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
